Will's Story
Little Victories
There are big victories like living longer and smaller victories that happen every day. It's the little victories that bring a smile to your face.
- I went into an Old Navy store and actually bought something, and it was on clearance sale.
- I deleted (without reading it) an email flyer from a Big and Tall shop.
- I'm wearing an extra large shirt (one I bought at Old Navy, no less).
- I felt moved to suck in my gut and it was a meaningful action.
- I no longer worry whether I'll be seated in a booth at a restaurant, althoug I still prefer tables.
- I don't look for the chair without arms.
- I ran out of holes on a belt I bought after I ran out of holes on my belt.
- I found a spare tux shirt that fit on the rack at Goodwill.
- I no longer feel I have to identify my tailor as Omar the Tentmaker.
- I'll be flying in ten days and won't need a seat belt extender.
- My knees don't hurt going down the stairs in the places that only have up escalators.
- I need suspenders to keep pants up that were tight when I started wearing them not so long ago.
- My favorite shirts are now so large that I can't wear them to work.
Little victories. But they make it all worth it.
